ICICI Prudential Insurance Policy for
Diabetic Individuals Launched |

Realizing the need of the hour to curtail the posing impediments of diabetes and cover the people affected with safety measures, the ICICI Prudential Life Insurance in partnership with Dr. Mohan's Diabetes Specialities Centre (DMDSC), Chennai has introduced `Diabetes Care' - a health insurance product for diabetic individuals. This beneficial scheme has been designed to provide a comprehensive support system that helps diabetic individuals to manage their condition and any related critical illnesses better. The formal launch of this scheme was held in Mumbai on 28th October 2006 in the presence of Mrs. Shikha Sharma, CEO & Managing Director, ICCICI Prudential Life Insurance, Dr. V. Mohan, Chairman & Chief Diabetologist and Dr. M. Rema, Managing Director & Chief Ophthalmologist, DMDSC, Chennai.

The five-year policy covers people in the age group of 25 - 60 years and who are pre-diabetic or Type 2 diabetic i.e., those with adult diabetes or impaired glucose tolerance (IGT). It offers the individual a lump sum amount of the entire sum assured for critical illnesses such as coronary artery bypass surgery, cancer, end-stage renal failure, heart attack, stroke and major organ transplant. Under this policy, there could be a loading or a discount of up to 30% of the premium depending on the condition of the person based on a yearly check up.
